- Preparation for both official AESA exams (A1/A3 and A2)

Who is it for?
Leisure
You want to fly a Mini or an Air at the beach, in the countryside or on holiday. The A1/A3 alone is enough.
Photo and video
You shoot weddings, property or landscapes and need to get close to people and buildings with a drone over 250 g.
New professional
You are going to work with drones: inspections, surveying, audiovisual. Cover the whole open category and move on to STS.
What you can and cannot do
The limits are set by Regulation (EU) 2019/947. With both licences you cover the whole open category.
- Fly up to 120 m above the ground
- A1: drones under 250 g (C0) or up to 900 g (C1), never over assemblies of people
- A2: class C2 drones (up to 4 kg) at 30 m from people, or 5 m in low-speed mode
- A3: drones up to 25 kg far from people and buildings
- Recreational and professional use across the open category
- Fly over assemblies of people
- Fly drones over 4 kg close to people: beyond that, the specific category (STS)
- Fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) or in controlled airspace without coordination
- Sit the A2 exam before passing the A1/A3
- Operate without registering as an operator with AESA if the drone has a camera
How it works
Enrol and start right away
Pay online and enter the virtual classroom immediately, with both courses.
Train at your pace with an instructor
8 h of theory with marked mock exams and 2 h of introductory flight practice with an instructor.
Two AESA exams and certificates
First the A1/A3 (40 questions), then the A2 (30 questions, by webcam). AESA issues each certificate when you pass.
Three exam questions
Questions of the same type as the AESA A1/A3 exam, the first of the two you prepare with the pack. This is how you study in the Vister classroom: question, answer and explanation.
The AESA exam is free. Why train with Vister rather than alone?
It is free and it will stay free: Vister does not charge for the exams. What you pay for is arriving prepared for both.
A single enrolment
Both open-category licences in the same classroom, in order and without repeating paperwork.
Real introductory practice
Two hours of flying with an instructor, so your first flight is not the exam.
A pilot who answers
Your questions are answered by an active instructor, during business hours, by email or WhatsApp. Not a bot.
Material updated to the current regulations
Study material reviewed with every regulatory change, most recently when Royal Decree 517/2024 came into force.
