Who is it for?
Leisure
You want to fly a Mini or an Air at the beach, in the countryside or on holiday without legal trouble or fines.
Photo and video
You shoot weddings, property or landscapes and need to get close to people and buildings with a drone over 250 g.
New professional
You are going to work with drones: inspections, surveying, audiovisual. Start with the basics and move on to STS.
What you can and cannot do
The limits are set by Regulation (EU) 2019/947. This is what the A1/A3 certificate allows you to do.
- Fly up to 120 m above the ground
- A1: drones under 250 g (C0) or up to 900 g (C1), never over assemblies of people
- A3: drones up to 25 kg (C2, C3, C4) far from people and buildings
- Always fly within visual line of sight (VLOS), by day and at night with lights
- Recreational and professional use within the open category
- Fly over assemblies of people (concerts, crowded beaches, events)
- A3: fly within 150 m of residential, commercial, industrial or recreational areas
- Fly where uninvolved people are present in the operating area (A3)
- Fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) or in controlled airspace without coordination
- Get close to people with drones over 250 g: for that you need the A2

Three exam questions
Questions of the same type as the 40 in the AESA exam. To pass you need 30 correct answers. This is how you study in the Vister classroom: question, answer and explanation.
The AESA exam is free. Why train with Vister rather than alone?
It is free and it will stay free: Vister does not charge for the exam. What you pay for is arriving prepared.
